Design Review DWF Viewer Autodesk

autodesk design review

I tried to get someone on the phone, but nobody ever called back or answered the phone. I lost a lot of time to trying to solve the issue and lost my work which I've done during trial period. When you want to submit designs for review, you can publish your drawing as a DWF or DWFx file and send it to your client or anyone you want to review your designs. The reviewer can open the DWF or DWFx file in Autodesk Design Review, mark up the file electronically, and then send it back to you. You can only use Autodesk Design Review to mark up DWF or DWFx files for review.

I requested this but was told mt product is no longer supported so they refused to let me open it.I went to my account and the item was shown in my products. I told them that this is proof of my purchasing the software; and what did they do? Have been trying for over a month to begin a free trial of Revit LT to no avail. Their download process is horrible but the worst issue is that there is NO customer service or tech support.

Disgusting filthy company.

The markups and their statuses are saved in the DWF file. Autodesk® Design Review is a free program used for creating and reviewing DWF files. An open, published, and secure file format developed by Autodesk, DWF enables you to combine and publish rich 2D- and 3D-design data and share it with others. Disgusting filthy company.I have had on of their products for 13 years, hard copy bought and paid for. Having had a hardware problem on my computer, I had to reinstall it, it installed okay but when I went to open it a further request for proof was required and could be accessed by request.

The newest version of the DWF file format, DWFx, is based on the XML Paper Specification (XPS) from Microsoft. DWFx makes it easier to share design data with reviewers who cannot install software. "Today's updates reinforce our commitment to enabling our customers to collaborate better and work smarter by supporting open standards, strengthening our content creation tools, and unifying workflows and data across entire production pipelines." Autodesk, Inc. designs and develops software for the architecture, engineering, manufacturing, construction, and media and entertainment industries. Moreover, its digital media and entertainment solutions consists of tools for digital sculpting, animation, effects, modeling, rendering, and compositing for design visualization, visual effects, and games production. Using the free Autodesk Design Review software, team members who do not use CAD can access designs. They can review, mark up, measure, and track changes to designs and drawings.

Deleting the contents of this Setup subdirectory can only be remedied by re-running the installation using the original distribution media. When the Design Review 2013 installer detects an earlier version of Design Review, the earlier version will be uninstalled automatically before Design Review 2013 is installed. If detected during the install, previous versions of the DGN and JT Import Plug-ins will also be automatically uninstalled. Before you begin, temporarily turn off all active applications, including virus checking software. As for Autodesk Flow, this cloud-based platform is getting improved functions to help studios connect artists across the VFX and animation pipeline. The ShotGrid is being Flow Production Tracking and Moxion is now renamed Flow Capture; not that spectacular, but the renaming ushers in some new features that Flow users will find an improvement over the previous tools.

Companies can ask for reviews via automatic invitations. Labeled Verified, they’re about genuine experiences.Learn more about other kinds of reviews. Emailed consistently about wanting to open a business account to sign up a few users.

Unlike PDF files, however, DWF files retain detailed design information and scale, and are therefore more suitable for architects, engineers, and designers. If you're a 3D modeller or animator then Maya's new Smart Extrude tool, Motion Trail Editor, and a redesigned Dope Sheet will catch the eye. In 3ds Max, artists can achieve better results even faster with improvements to tools like Retopology. Autodesk reveals improvements to its best 3D modelling and animation tools. Apparently happen to reopen a case that they failed to fix but then they wont, just a load of automated responses, gotta start the process all over again.

People who write reviews have ownership to edit or delete them at any time, and they’ll be displayed as long as an account is active.

While Flow Production Tracking now includes new AI-powered scheduling tools to improve workflows. It goes against our guidelines to offer incentives for reviews. We also ensure all reviews are published without moderation.

Design Review enables your entire project or product team to view, print, measure, and markup DWF, DWG, DXF, PDF and raster files containing 2D and 3D content. Most DWF files begin as a drawing or model created in such Autodesk programs as AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit. Before a DWF file is published, the person publishing the DWF file determines which features (model, layouts, layers, blocks, named views, and so on) are included in the published DWF file. Once the content has been determined, the designer publishes the file from its original format to a DWF file and sends the DWF file to the review team to begin the digital design review process.

You can then view markup in AutoCAD-based programs, make changes to your drawings, change markup status and republish for further review cycles. Autodesk has announced new tools for Maya, 3ds Max 2025 and its cloud-based 'Make & Design' platform Autodesk Flow that will save you time and enable greater creativity. Dylan Becker has given his Buy rating due to a combination of factors surrounding Autodesk’s recent update on its delayed annual 10-K filing. Autodesk is expected to receive a notice allowing for a 60-day period to present a plan to regain compliance, which can be extended by an additional 180 days.

Previous versions of Import Plug-ins cannot be uninstalled automatically, and must be uninstalled prior to installing Design Review 2013. Creative Bloq is part of Future plc, an international media group and leading digital publisher. Flow Capture offers a new 'intuitive UI' aimed at speeding up workflows and easier connectivity to tools like Avid Media Composer.

As and example, I have had an experience where 3DS max would crash constantly with NO indication of why. Their website is also no help, consistently pointing me to empty pages and failing to load pages. Rubbish support, I have a simple but ongoing case, first I try Live Chat where I'm connected to an offshore operator who has no idea about Autodesk Software, he just keeps "apologizing", "thanking me for my patience" and "forwarding article links". After an hour of wasting time, he forwards my case and abruptly ends the chat, however, nothing happens afterward. Yes, this software can be installed on personal computers. By default, Autodesk Design Review 2013 will be installed displaying the Resources tab.

I bought a subscription for PM & D Collection for $3000 and never got it to work. Hed to uninstall and reinstall several times and still got stuck in trial mode. No support, put in support ticket got no answer except that it'll take two days for an answer, but actually never got an answer.

Autodesk's fair pricing policy provides small businesses to use their products for free in full versions. Uninstalling Design Review 2013 removes all of the product's installation files from the computer. Autodesk Design Review Plug-ins must be uninstalled separately. If you accidentally delete or alter files required by Design Review 2013, Design Review 2013 might not perform correctly, and you might receive error messages when you try to execute a command or find a file. You can attempt to fix these problems by repairing Design Review 2013.

I'm logged in but apparently licence has run out....its nowhere near expiry, its on a renewing monthly contract. For more information, see the Help in the Autodesk Design Review software. For more information, see the Autodesk Design Review in-product Help.

The Tennessee Rivers Cruise

It’s not uncommon that the crew knows each guest by name and that onboard historians share a meal with guests. American Queen Voyages offers all-inclusive pricing while your fare on American Cruise Lines includes everything except shore tours and port fees. Viking offers its own inclusive value pricing that covers things such as beverages, lunch, dinner and one complimentary shore excursion. Not only is the autumnal landscape in New York's Hudson Valley visually captivating, but the small cities and towns that line the river's shores are filled with fascinating early American history dating back more than 400 years.

Not only was it a lot bigger than I expected, but it immediately made me feel like I had stepped back in time — or, perhaps, onto a ride at Disney World. Stops include Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Mackinac Island, Michigan, where horse-drawn carriages are likely the only traffic you’ll see, and Cleveland, Ohio, home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This website is using a security service to protect itself from online attacks.

In Dover, Tennessee, guests visit historic Fort Donelson National Park and learn about the garrison's role during the Civil War. The next day, passengers can tour the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center and Fort Defiance in Clarksville, Tennessee, and cap off the experience with a whiskey tasting at Old Glory Distilling Co. The voyage ends in Nashville, where you can stroll along historic Lower Broadway, visit museums dedicated to Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline, and take in a Grand Ole Opry show.

Given that most U.S. river cruise passengers tend to be in their golden years, the pace of onboard life is as leisurely as a float down a river. I found plenty of ways to relax, from joining low-key hosted trivia and doing self-led puzzles during the day to listening to live music at night. American Cruise Lines and Viking offer river cruises in the U.S., and can be more expensive than European river cruises. Each line offers different inclusions, such as guided excursions, pre-cruise hotel accommodations, meals and beverages. Over two weeks, you'll visit Native American burial grounds and archeological sites in West Virginia and learn about the underground railroad in Ohio. You can taste bourbon and explore the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory or the Kentucky Derby Museum & Horse Park in Louisville.

From Darrow, Louisiana, you'll stroll beneath canopies of towering live oak trees to visit historic mansions or glide through the bayou. More historic architecture, along with bird-watching, awaits in St. Francisville, Louisiana, and Natchez, Mississippi. Vicksburg, Mississippi, is home to one of the Civil War's most famous battlefields. Baton Rouge, Louisiana's capital, has something to satisfy every interest, from Cajun cuisine to tours of the restored World War II-era USS Kidd. On the Pacific end of your voyage, you'll visit Astoria, Oregon — the oldest American settlement west of the Rocky Mountains. This coastal city at the mouth of the Columbia River is known for its Victorian homes, wineries, brew pubs, and Lewis and Clark heritage.

Designated stops along the way feature points of interest where passengers can hop off for a visit before catching the next bus to another attraction or back to the boat. A quintessential American paddlewheel steamboat, American Queen looks every bit the part. Its crisp white exterior, bright red paddlewheel and black smokestacks topped with festive crowns befitting a queen complete the picture of grandeur. Wherever the boat goes, it draws curious, awestruck stares, and locals line up along the riverbanks to greet it when it arrives and wave goodbye when it leaves. Experience the charm and hospitality of the South with its delectable cuisine, rich history, warm people, and amazing wildlife. Travel through the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay to the impressive Intracoastal Waterway of the Carolinas and Georgia, and the great rivers and turquoise waters of Florida.

Like the rest of the U.S. hospitality industry, American Queen Voyages acknowledged that it is experiencing staffing shortages. Most of the things that could have been improved on my American Queen sailing were likely caused by a lack of workers. True to its name, the Front Porch — the boat's main outdoor lounge area — was just that but on a grand scale. Rocking chairs and swings often made me feel like I was on the covered front porch of a southern farmhouse as we glided past small towns and made our way through a fascinating system of locks along the way.

The vessel's size means that it has some amenities — like a plunge pool, fitness center, spa, a navigational chart room and theater with a stage — not found on other riverboats. On our unique Great Lakes tour boats, you will traverse great depths, watch the sun rise and set over distant horizons and learn compelling details about the region — both on- and offshore. Along the way, enjoy stops at local wineries, historic lighthouses, museums, aquariums, renowned restaurants and so much more! My Trip My Viking Journey®

viking river cruise

Plus, Viking offers several excursions each day that the ship is in port. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Viking River cruise, which transported us comfortably to some amazing European destinations. There are times when river cruise ships have to have guests disembark a ship and then board a sister ship. Sometimes the river water levels may be too low in spots (due to the lack of sufficient rain during summer) or there is another issue (like a broken lock) necessitating the change. Viking River Cruises are semi-inclusive, with at least one shore excursion per day, Wi-Fi, bottled water and all onboard meals (in all venues) included in the price of your cruise. Also included is beer, wine and soda at lunch and dinner; these beverages cost extra any other time of the day.

Dining on Viking River Ships Centers on a Main Dining Room, Casual Meals in Aquavit

To me, taking a cruise is probably the most relaxing vacation. If you're considering a Viking Cruise or want to know what it's like to sail on a river, this post will guide you through everything you need to know before you go. Did you know that you won’t pay a penny more for your Viking River cruise when you book with us? As you can see, the number of suites is quite limited, so if you prefer a larger suite, early booking is highly recommended.

Please note that Viking requires at least 48 hours’ cancellation notice if you are on the ship and decide not to go on an optional excursion. Onboard you’ll have port talks to prepare you for each new day along with musical entertainment in the lounge. Plus, you can expect some special cooking and craft demonstrations, wine tastings, and presentations about a destination’s unique features. How to Pick the Right Stateroom on Your Viking River Cruise Longship

Viking River & Ocean Voyages highlight the history, culture, and seldom-seen sights of both inland and coastal destinations on one seamless itinerary. From rivers to oceans, enjoy a Thinking Person’s Cruise that only Viking can provide, on board ships designed for discovery and delight. My husband prefers to jog each morning, and he was able to when we were docked in the early morning before excursions began. A good idea if you’re a runner is to check with the reception desk to map out when there will be time in the morning to leave the ship for a jog or run before excursions begin. You’ll find Viking River cruises throughout Europe, Egypt, and Southeast Asia.

Expect shore excursions to include vineyard visits and tastings of the region's famous Rieslings. For a more casual option, the Aquavit Terrace on the upper deck has light buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners. It's a particularly charming place to eat when the weather is nice and the glass walls come down, opening the entire area up to al fresco dining. Tables here are smaller, so if you're traveling with a friend or partner, you don't have to sit at a table with strangers. You can also come and go a bit more freely here, during serving hours. It's a nice choice if you've had a long day touring and only need a small nosh.

During the day on excursions, travelers dress very comfortably as they leave the ship to explore a destination. However, most guests sport a smart casual look for dinner. Leave your dressier clothes at home; no formal nights are on a Viking River cruise. Having a fleet of identical ships is not unusual in river cruising, which is why it's more important to choose a line that fits your needs, rather a specific vessel, when you're planning your trip. First, river cruise ships are restricted in size by the locks and canals systems along Europe's waterways.

These 25 rooms, coming in at 150 square feet, are often called "aquarium class" because the windows are at the same level of the river outside. Viking river cruise ship layouts center on the glass-enclosed Aquavit Terrace. Part dining area, part sunny hangout, the Aquavit Terrace sits at the front of the ship and provides a perfect vantage point for scenic sailing.

Travel Planning Timeline

With longer port calls and our destination-focused approach, Viking maximizes your discoveries in Europe. From the fairytale castles of the Middle Rhine to the natural beauty of Norwegian fjords, you will gain deep insight into the continent’s cultural and historic riches. Once you have made your booking, you can complete your Guest Information Form.

Châteaux, Rivers & Wine

In the afternoon, we followed up on some of the suggestions the local guide from the morning had regarding how to spend the remainder of the day. That worked well as we enjoyed some nice non-touristy lunches and other walks and tours on our own. On Viking river cruises, wines are included at lunch and dinner and are poured liberally. This is one area where the line strives to provide regional offerings.

You can rest assured that Viking is with you for every step of your journey—from the time you begin making travel plans until you return home. Creating an account in My Viking Journey is quick and easy—get started today. Use My Viking Journey to fully customize your flight itinerary, including seat assignments, flight upgrades, or change your dates of travel and preferred airports. You can also add a stopover before or after your cruise and add flight preferences. Designed exclusively for you to prepare for your upcoming voyage, customize your travel experience, and manage your bookings.

When we cruised, the “classics” included Caesar salad as a starter; steak, salmon, and chicken as entrees, and Creme Brûlée, a selection of cheeses, a fruit plate, and ice cream for dessert. The staterooms and bathrooms are efficiently designed to maximize usable space, and there are many things to appreciate in the staterooms. There are several things you won’t find on a Viking River cruise, and they are often some of the prime reasons so many people choose Viking. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices. In addition, average cruise prices are updated nightly. You will need to pay extra for tips, laundry and additional shore excursion offerings.

The line puts out loungers, some in the sun and some under cover, so you can enjoy drinks and river views. The sundeck also has an herb garden, a shuffleboard area and two putting greens (although these are very rarely used). One complimentary excursion is included in every port of call. These thoughtfully curated experiences provide insights into local culture, history and attractions.

Itineraries include the Garonne, Girande and Dordogne Rivers, all of which wind their way through rolling hills home to more than 9,000 wineries. Those produce about 700 million bottles of wine a year, so expect sips of Saint-Emilion, Medoc and Sauternes on a Viking Bordeaux river cruise. One of the best Viking River Cruises in Europe takes place on the Rhine River and the scenery is spectacular. Rising in the Alps and meandering 820 miles through Switzerland, France, Germany and the Netherlands, the Rhine is lined with fairy-tale castles and wine-growing villages.

I wasn’t anticipating how chilly France would be in May! I always pack my tennis shoes and a few lightweight sweaters. On one side of the menu are the “classics” or options that are always available.

If wine isn't your speed, Bordeaux is also a Cognac-producing region. You'll have the chance to create a personal bottle of Cognac at the family-run Camus Distillery. And for a true direct-to-table dining experience, join a truffle hunt in Perigord or savor fresh oysters from the bay at Arcachon. Manageable itineraries of only eight days are available, though the line does offer longer options. Viking includes excursions to the poignant Normandy beaches plus the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Colleville-sur-Mer. You'll also get a dash of history in medieval Rouen and the quaint fishing village of Honfleur.

The guests on the other ship, the Modi, got off the ship at Regensburg, on the other side of the damaged lock. Essentially, each ship then turned around and went back to the city from which it originated. Suffice it to say that Viking has this all figured out and has contingency plans firmly in place. Tipping is the universal way to thank someone for providing excellent service — and you will find excellent service on Viking. Prepaid gratuities came to 18 Euros per guest per day. Viking adds a discretionary service charge (15 Euros per guest per day when we traveled) to your shipboard account if you choose not to prepay the gratuity.

Cruise Clothes for Women: Balancing Comfort and Packing Light

cruise wear for women

Find a glam bathing suit, movie star sunglasses, and a chic tote. It’s necessary when running off to the buffet or the spa in between sun tanning and dips in the pool. You feel great when you look great, and life is much more fun!

Pack for Your Destination

You’ll often find yourself in your bathing suit when on the ship. However, when you want a break from the sun or need to head to the buffet, consider the convenience of cover-ups and beach kaftans. Here’s a list of clothing to bring on a 7 day Caribbean or warm weather cruise. You may want to pack a change of clothing in your beach bag, along with your other beach day essentials.

Daytime Cruise Outfits

Remember that the daytime dress code on a cruise is generally laid-back and relaxed. So, embrace the casual nature of your cruise vacation and enjoy the freedom to dress comfortably while you explore and unwind during the day. Consider a beautiful skirt paired with a nice top, shoes, and accessories for a chic night. This ensemble can be a lovely and stylish choice for formal evenings on the cruise. Many first time cruisers are concerned about what to wear on formal nights on a cruise. It’s understandable, as this is quite different from a typical land vacation.

Cruise Clothes for Women: Tops, Bottoms, Swimwear & More!

The long crop top has gorgeous ruffle detail, and pairs well with the loose drawstring pants. In fact, I wore this red floral dress for Scarlet Night on my Virgin Voyages cruise. This summer dress is great for parties at home, lunches out, and of course, on a cruise.

For example, if you stop in Naples Itay, you could explore the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Naples, and even Pompei which all involve different kinds of daytime outfits. I wore a casual top and shorts and everyone else wore something similar. Plus a comfortable pair of shoes you can easily walk around in for different terrain. I find a lot of Caribbean shore excursions involve lots of water activities like swimming & snorkeling, or boat excursions.

They are easy to slip on and off and perfect for lounging by the pool or exploring sandy shores. Many of the beaches in the Caribbean are beautiful, but they can also be rocky, and I often wear strap-on water sandals to protect my feet from any sharp rocks or debris. Many cruise line pool decks can get extremely hot, so water shoes are vital for kids who want to ride the slides. Shoes often have to be removed before sliding down, so consider this. Kids should always have water shoes for the beach as the sand can also be hot and rocky.

What shoes to wear with flare leggings: 34 cute ideas

Every detail, from the clothes you wear to the accessories you carry, plays a part in crafting the perfect cruise adventure. The essence of a memorable cruise experience often lies in the details. Styling your cruise outfits thoughtfully will not only ensure you look fabulous but also help you navigate the voyage’s varied activities with comfort and ease.

Mix & match to your heart’s content to create a wide variety of beautifully colorful outfits that are just right for you & your style, all at low discount & sale prices. The key to perfecting your cruise wardrobe is anticipating your needs for the day ahead. Whether participating in onboard activities or venturing ashore, the proper attire will enhance your comfort and overall cruise experience. Please remember to make your clothing choices for the cruise’s destinations and anticipated weather conditions. This way, whether you’re soaking up rays on the deck or discovering new cultures on land, you’ll always be adequately dressed for the occasion.

We’ve gone over what to wear on a cruise during the day, evening and on formal nights. I hope this post has given you some ideas of what to wear on the first day of your cruise and shore excursions as well. A casual dress code means includes casual pants or nice jeans for men (no holes), along with a nice shirt or polo. For ladies, capri pants, nice jeans and a cute top, or a sundress are all great. Most of the time, first and last evenings of your cruise, will be a casual dress suggestion. Some cruise lines have “formal” nights, but even in recent years the strictness of the dress code has become more lax.

Create one now to start your list of favorites with everything you love. For sunglasses, prioritize good UV protection without breaking the bank. While prescription sunglasses may be necessary for some, affordable options with proper UV protection are widely available. Embarking on a cruise is a journey unto itself, offering an escape into a world of relaxation, exploration, and delightful experiences.

Essential for pool days, a mesh tote bag takes up minimal space and is perfect for carrying your essentials including sunscreen and a book or kindle. Make sure to pack a bathing suit cover up or two for cruise sea days. Very cute and casual, this short sleeve romper shorts outfit is a great comfortable embarkation day outfit. It gets a bit cool on a cruise ship in the evening, between the air conditioning and the evening sea breeze. Make sure to bring along a shawl, scarf or cardigan or two – it’s really a must.

Deciding what to wear on a cruise port day, will depend on your plans and excursions. If you’re going to the beach, you can wear a bathing suit under a light sundress or cover up. On a Caribbean or other warm weather cruise, dress lightly and casually for the first day of your cruise. A light sundress or cute shorts and a top are perfect outfits for the first day of your cruise vacation. So if you’re wondering what to wear on a cruise, relax … you’ve come to the right place.

Keep in mind, that if you’re not feeling like dressing up, you can always eat in more casual clothes in the buffet and most casual restaurants on the ship. If you are sailing to the Caribbean or Europe, you may want to focus on bringing some cute jewelry for the evenings. Alaska or Northern Europe may require a few more sensible items, like rain jackets, gloves, and warm hats. If you plan to be kayaking or doing a lot of water activities, you might want to consider packing water shoes. Plus, water shoes are easy to clean if they end up getting dirty. A basic nude heel usually does the trick if you don't have anything super fancy.

For an extra special experience, try to get a private cabana on Castaway Cay. They are typically available only to those who are platinum or pearl members of Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Club (or concierge guests), but it’s always worth trying. In the atrium lobby, you’ll also find a life-sized gingerbread house. It was pretty crowded with people taking photos right at the start of the cruise. If traveling on a Disney Christmas cruise, definitely wait until later in the cruise to take a photo, when most guests have finished taking their photos.

How Much is a Very Merrytime Disney Christmas Cruise?

There are trees in the lobby of each restaurant and scattered in a few other spots, but not much. A few wreaths and scattered pieces of garland, but nothing (that I can recall) that was even illuminated outside the atrium. Don’t get us wrong–we love Disney Cruise Line and had a blast on this sailing. However, this isn’t simply a sailing that coincidentally occurs around Christmas-time, it’s actively marketed by Disney as a Very Merrytime Cruise.

Is Disney Cruise Christmas Worth It? – Very Merrytime Cruise Review

When I book, I always make sure Disney's private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, is on the port of call. If you need assistance with deciding whether a holiday sailing on Disney Cruise Line is right for your family, contact one of our specialist travel agents for consultation and free quote. Another holiday scene includes the sand snowmen, welcoming you ashore.

So here is a full guide to the Very Merrytime Christmas cruises with Disney Cruise Line. A pregnant woman was taken off a Disney cruise ship on Monday via medevac after she experienced health complications. Over the past decade, I've taken eight Disney cruises with my family and friends.

It’s worth noting that If you’re looking to sail on a themed Disney cruise, we suggest the Halloween on the High Seas cruises for the price point. However, the Holiday sailings tend to be a peak time for travel, potentially impacting the cost and availability. If your ship visits Disney Cruise Line's private island, Castaway Cay, during your Very Merrytime voyage, don't be surprised to find another Christmas tree and various other decorations. The island tram comes close -- it's decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and a tail. Similarly, life-size sand sculptures of a snow family make for a fun photo op. If you are booked on a Very Merrytime Disney cruise (basically any cruise during the months of November and December), expect a little added joy throughout your sailing.

In addition to the Very Merrytime sailings, Halloween on the High Seas will return during mid-September through October of 2024, offering cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean. New itineraries have been announced for the holiday season of 2024 for mid-November through December. Select cruises will stop at Disney's new Lighthouse Point during the holiday season.

Special Events on a Very Merrytime Cruise

We also break down the best time to visit Disney World based on specific times of the year and special events.

Disney Christmas Cruise Tips

With two brand-new entertainment experiences, Disney characters dressed in jolly new looks and celebratory activities for the whole family, Disney Cruise Line will be filled with the spirit of the holidays this year. DCL's Xmas and New Year specials are a good choice for uniquely themed sailings on all four Disney ships. Families are able to enjoy their vacation in the company of Mickey and Minnie, all their good friends and all the bad villains in the immense family of Disney fun characters. The Walt Disney company's product combines traveling fun family, the Xmas fun itself, the New Years' Eve fireworks at sea, and not to forget the special dinner menus on the ship. All Disney ships are also full to their top decks with themed activities and modern technological innovations. Having experienced the magic of a themed Disney Cruise, I wholeheartedly would recommend it to everyone.

Q: Is There a Pirate Night on Disney Christmas Cruises?

From the intricately themed staterooms and dining venues to the exclusive character encounters. But what truly sets Disney cruises apart are their special-themed sailings! Guests can immerse themselves in the festive spirit with Very Merrytime Cruises. My first cruise with DCL was a Halloween-themed voyage back in 2019, I can confidently say that it was a spellbinding adventure.

Being an exclusive island for Disney ships and passengers only, Castaway Cay has all that children need for one unforgettable Xmas Disney-style vacation. During the first night of our cruise, guests were welcomed into the lobby atrium for the official tree-lighting ceremony. Mickey and friends dance and sing to popular holiday songs as the giant tree is lit. Located on the island of Eleuthera at Lighthouse Point, this vibrant beach retreat will be a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.

Poinsettias were spread around the ship and were subtle but a pretty pop of red color. It definitely felt like a holiday atmosphere, and combined with the Disney magic, it was extra special. We enjoyed these character meet & greets, but they were not our primary motivation for taking the cruise. We were expecting something more akin to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Sea. We would’ve even settled for a holiday version of Star Wars Day at Sea, which we experienced earlier in the year and really enjoyed.

With all kinds of fun activities for adults and kids you can enjoy the Christmas Tree lighting, “snow” in the atrium along with holiday crafts and treats. There is no shortage of festive fun on a Disney Very Merrytime Cruise. See below for some of our favorite things to do on a Disney Very Merrytime Sailing. When considering a Christmas cruise, Disney Cruise Line stands out for its unparalleled combination of holiday festivities and Disney magic.

How much does it cost to build a cruise ship?

average cost of a cruise ship

With the accounting rules used by the cruise lines, sometimes money spent before you get on the ship is actually classified as “onboard and other” spending. What cruise line has the most expensive cruise ships? Royal Caribbean leads the cruise industry with the most expensive ships. On average, RCCL spends $669 million per new vessel.

This graph above gives us an idea of not just "cost," but also grandiosity. During my Mexican Riviera cruise, I took advantage of a status offer on Celebrity and had them launder a full bag at no charge. Honestly, by far the cheapest option is simply to disconnect. If that isn’t an option, prepare to pay a flat daily rate of at least $9 per day, or metered rates averaging 75 cents per minute or 35 cents per megabyte. But we have some estimates below to give you an idea of the cost of taking a cruise.

How much is a typical cruise fare?

The next time you board a cruise ship teeming with every diversion you can imagine, think about how much it cost to build that floating megaresort. It might give you new appreciation for just how much the cruise line has invested to create your ideal vacation at sea. The cost of building a cruise ship can vary due to many factors, some of which include ship size, amenities, technology and design. If you're curious just how much money a cruise line needs to construct a new ship, here's everything you need to know.

How Much Does a Cruise Ship Cost? Pricing and Budgeting Tips

So, one person in a cabin is akin to one person taking up two seats on a flight. It may not seem fair, but as we’ll see below, the average additional revenue generated by even one passenger is pretty significant. For this reason, solo cruisers should expect to pay anywhere between 150% and 200% of the advertised cruise price. We dove into detail about spending on a cruise ship before.

Shore excursions and tours in port

The 18-deck, 8,454-passenger ship was the second vessel in the line's groundbreaking Oasis Class series. The ship is chock-full of amusements — multiple dining and drinking venues, a zip line, the FlowRider surf simulator, an ice skating rink and an AquaTheater. Pricing is an important factor when deciding on the type of cruise ship you want. One of these is the type of cruise ship that’s ideal for your needs.

But be aware, that some of the fancier dining options, spa treatments, and your midnight Margaritas at the bar aren’t part of the deal. I carry my own water bottle that I fill at the drink stations, plus we had two bottles delivered each day in AquaClass, so I didn't pay for any water on my Celebrity cruise. Also, because of our cabin class, smoothies were served daily at no charge in the exclusive Blu dining room. Generally speaking, plan to spend around $500 per person for flights, with transfer costs averaging anywhere between $20 and $100 per person.

Answered: What’s the Cheapest Time to Take a Cruise?

Daily service charges go to your stateroom attendant and server, and will either be billed to your shipboard account or prepaid at the time of booking. All other gratuities for bartenders, guides, etc., will be added to your bill afterward. Some people just get dropped off at the port by a friend or family member, so it costs them nothing. Others have to book a cross-country flight and a hotel stay the night before.

Do you pay per day for a cruise?

Take a look at this breakdown of cruise lines based on upcharges for coffee drinks, and see if you can spot the pattern. Some info on one of the world's most famous passenger ships ever - The World cruise ship. Onboard Spending (~$85-$120 per day)By far the biggest expense of taking a cruise is the fare, but onboard spending can be a considerable chunk of change. Of course, those figures are averages across the entire company. Specific cruises can be much lower… or much higher… depending on your specifics. For example, sailing an interior cabin is drastically cheaper than sailing in a balcony room.

So a couple traveling on a seven-day cruise will pay about $200 in gratuities. Factors that go into the price include the type of cabin you choose, length of cruise, when you sail, and even the ship and cruise line you sail. Size doesn't always matter when it comes to shipbuilding expenses. Ponant Cruises' 245-passenger Le Commandant Charcot reportedly cost $430 million for a ship with just 123 rooms. Launched in 2021, the vessel is the first expedition cruise ship capable of reaching the North Pole. Additionally, new ships often employ cutting-edge technology and engineering, and cruise lines must pay for the teams of experts needed to turn design dreams into reality.

Above, you'll find a graph showing the average cruise ship cost by cruise line. The chart shown represents the actual cost to build a cruise ship for the specific brands shown. There are plenty of factors that come into play when searching for the perfect cruise. And, of course, how much does a cruise ship cost?

If we look at the Costa Firenze cruise ship cost per tonnage, we get a price tag showing $7,011 per GT. If we look at the Mardi Gras cruise ship cost per tonnage, we get a price tag showing $5,166 per GT. The ship measures 131k gross tons and is one of the largest in the fleet. If we look at the Celebrity Edge cruise ship cost per tonnage, we get a price tag showing $7,644 per GT. If we look at the Celebration cruise ship cost per tonnage, we get a price tag showing $5,438 per GT. If we look at the Ovation of the Seas cruise ship cost per tonnage, we get a price tag showing $6,522 per GT.

Some cruise lines may even offer “cash back” rebates on the price of your cruise ticket. Some cruise lines, like Norwegian Cruise Line, are also beginning to offer Internet packages specifically for social media. Their “Freestyle Choice Plans” distinguish between certain apps and websites to cater to cruise passengers’ needs. Regardless of whether or not you agree with the policy, the fact is that many cruise staff members rely on tips and gratuities. These days, most of the gratuities you’ll be expected to pay will automatically be added to all onboard purchases.

These questions, my dear reader, are exactly what we’re going to address today. The cost during my cruise was $35 per device, per day. The cruise line provided it at no charge, but the total would have been $490. Services like massages, scrubs and wraps can soar well into the $200 per treatment range, and medi-spa offerings like acupuncture or teeth whitening are even more. Use of fitness equipment is complimentary, but classes or private time with a trainer will add to your bill. You might also spend money on extra-fee gelato, ice cream sundaes, fancy snacks or baked goods at onboard coffee shops.

And cruises departing in January or February are less expensive than sailing at the height of summer. As well, several cruise lines sold off a number older, smaller ships. Along with the removal of older ships, new ships have come onto the market such as Carnival Celebration and Jubilee, as well as Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas. Wondering how much you’ll spend to take a cruise? We have specific estimates (using actual figures from the cruise lines!) below.

Barbados Cruise Port The Best Guide to Beautiful Bridgetown

barbados cruise

Snorkelers and divers should hit Carlisle Bay’s famous underwater shipwreck trail. And make sure you don’t miss a visit to the Barbados Wildlife Reserve, where you can mingle with the green monkeys that roam free around the island. Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison is a short 10-minute taxi ride from the cruise port. Many independent historical walking tours can be booked online and offer pick-up and drop-off at the port.

Where is the port and cruise ships dock

barbados cruise

The location is ideal for cruise passengers, as the port is just outside of the city’s downtown core and is just 10 miles away from Grantley Adams International Airport, the main airport in Barbados. Passengers embarking on their cruise from Barbados can take a roughly 30-minute taxi or shuttle ride directly to the cruise port. Andromeda’s Botanic Garden, the oldest and largest garden in Barbados, is home to rare plant species and has 20 connected gardens over eight acres. It's located on the opposite side of the island, which is about a 40-minute drive from the Barbados cruise port, so we recommend planning the day and renting a vehicle or booking a taxi. Your Cunard ship will dock in the main cruise port, about a mile away from the center of Bridgetown. If you would prefer not to walk into town there’s a shuttle bus available that can transport you to the city center.

Top Sights & Attractions for Cruises to Bridgetown

The crescent bay is long and downright beautiful, with a stretch of pure white sand curving around the perfectly turquoise sea. There are plenty of beach clubs along the beach, and although they all charge for entry or at the very least just for use of a sun lounger and umbrella, the beach is completely public. You’re free to walk from end to end, and you by no means have to pay for a sun lounger if you don’t want to. The beach can get busy during the day, but later in the afternoon as the cruise passengers head back to their ships, Carlisle Bay is an even more beautiful place to be. The city even maintains a scenic walking path from the cruise port to the edge of the downtown core, so visitors can easily explore the city’s attractions, shops, and restaurants after a 20-minute stroll along the water.

Wander Through Two Botanical Gardens: Andromeda’s Botanic Garden and Hunte’s Gardens

For history lovers, there’s historic Bridgetown and its Garrison, an outstanding example of British colonial architecture that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011. The town is full of places to sample delicious local cuisine and strong rum as you mingle with the hospitable local people. There’s also no shortage of natural wonders to explore, from caves and spotless beaches, to warm waters perfect for scuba diving. While on a cruise to Barbados, know that there are a variety of ways to get around once you’re there.

Head west to Speightstown on the Platinum Coast to get a taste of Barbados' emerging culinary star. It's a 30-minute drive from the Barbados cruise port and well worth it for foodies. Choose from down-to-earth pubs with standard but delicious meals, or opt for a fancier night out at one of the many gourmet eateries. Like much of the Caribbean, Barbados has a tropical, oceanic climate with hot and humid conditions all year round. For this reason, it’s advisable to pack light clothes in breathable fabric to keep you cool.

Barbados Cruise Port: Amenities, Location, What's Nearby & More

For visits to Hunte’s Gardens, we recommend booking a local independent tour or creating a DIY excursion. Those seeking delicious Caribbean dining closer to the port can head into the capital city of Bridgetown to experience the local cuisine. Bridgetown has a handful of top-rated restaurants to choose from and most possess that relaxed Caribbean vibe. The moment you disembark in the capital city of Bridgetown, you enter a world where rich history and culture meet outstanding tropical beauty.

THE BEST DESTINATIONS YOU’LL VISIT ON A CRUISE FROM BARBADOS

Inorder to find out more about the cruise ship itineraries such as ports, dates, and arrival/departuretimes just follow the ship’s link. We walked past Lobster Alive almost every time we were docked at Barbados Cruise Port, and on our final day, starving hungry and denied entry from the at-capacity Boatyard, we decided it was time to visit. Up until that point, I’d actually been more intrigued by the strains of live jazz music which sometimes drifted on the wind out of the restaurant at sunset, than by the promise of fresh lobster. In fact, I’d never actually eaten lobster, so on that point I had no idea what to expect. The Boatyard Barbados day pass price for passengers is $35USD and includes use of a sun lounger and umbrella, a welcome drink, a boat trip to see the turtles, and the shuttle back to the ship.

In addition to unlocking some of the most popular shores in the southern Caribbean, a cruise from Barbados is also worth considering because the island is an amazing destination in and of itself. Bridgetown, Barbados’s capital and main cruise port, offers the perfect combination of Caribbean vibes and European charm. The streets are lined with well-preserved colonial buildings and brightly painted wooden houses, bustling open-air markets and quaint seaside cafes where you can watch sleek catamarans bobbing in the bay. If you venture beyond the city, you’ll find your pick of sun-kissed beaches, wild nature trails that are perfect for hiking and even an extensive network of caves you can explore.

Taxis tend to be inexpensive in Barbados except during rush hour, and there will be taxi drivers waiting to pick up passengers outside the cruise terminal. You can arrange for a taxi to pick you up later, or to take you to multiple destinations. There is also a shuttle service from the port into Bridgetown available for cruise passengers to take. Barbados is known for its unique culinary offerings too, from macaroni pie, cou cou, fish cakes, and other regional delicacies must be experienced while on your Barbados cruise.

Unless you live in Barbados, you will need to fly to reach the cruise ship. Popular amongst many cruise lines including Crystal, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and Seabourn Cruise Line. If kicking back with a rum punch in hand is a little too laid-back, you can snorkel around shipwrecks, rent a jet ski, or even visit Tortuga to swim with turtles. This may well have been the most expensive meal I’ve ever eaten in my entire living history, but it was also one of the most memorable. A special mention here for the Boatyard Beach Club Barbados, because as a crew member it is my duty to pass on this sacred information.

Get the flying fish here, or take a break from fish to enjoy one of their beef or chicken dishes. Drive less than 45 minutes north of Bridgetown for a day among protected species and lush forest. Home to green monkeys, snakes, various bird species, and many others, kids and families will love seeing these animals walking freely through the habitat.

Barbados is both warm and dry during the winter months, which partially explains why it is such a popular winter destination for those living in the colder climates of North America and Europe. Average temperatures are about the same as during the later fall, so expect it to be roughly 75° F during the day. Wear light, comfortable clothing, and pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat. Humidity is also relatively low, which explains why this is such a popular time of year to visit Barbados. Since the spring months fall within the dry season, you shouldn’t have to worry about more than a few brief showers. You will also find two convenience stores within the terminal, which are helpful if you want to pick up a few snacks or bottled drinks to enjoy during your time in Bridgetown.

Animal Flower Cave is a magical spot underneath the cliffs at North Point in St Lucy, named after the sea anemones you can find outside- known locally as ‘Animal Flowers’ which is a much cuter name in my opinion. On a calm day it’s possible to swim inside the cave (which is deceptively deep), or just view the rough Atlantic seas from inside, with the cave walls forming a natural picture frame. This is a brilliant tour which encompasses all sides of life in Barbados, with stops at Animal Flower Cave and Bathsheba, as well as Rihanna’s childhood home, and the very first English settlement at Holetown. The owner flies his little private airplane back and forth to the Grenadines a couple of times a week, to collect lobster and fly them back to Barbados- where they’re served fresh on a plate to customers of Lobster Alive. Bridgetown really does have some beautiful architecture, plenty of which is English in shape and structure but Caribbean in its pops of colour.

An old bridge crossing the Careenage river was discovered by the English, and the new English colony eventually became known as Bridgetown. There is a Tourist Information Desk conveniently located at the Cruise Terminal, usually maned all day, where you can get maps and brochures. Today, the festival is marked by bright colors, food, concerts, parties, music, performances and more. If the stars align, you might even get to see the main event, the Grand Kadooment. The Grand Kadooment is a massive 10 km parade north of Bridgetown, with up to 15,000 participants singing, dancing and serenading parade-goers. Welchman Hall Gully is a great location on the island for a hike like no other.

Besides the mentioned attractions in Bridgetown within walking distance or close by on a taxi (easy and affordable), there are many other attractions to explore in Barbados. At the end of the bridge, the Independence Arch is a famous landmark and a great photo op. Immediately after, on the left, is the seafront greenery of Interior St. Mary's Church and on the right is where you could have a refreshing drink or a light lunch before the Covid pandemic. Unfortunately, popular places like the Marina Bar and the Waterfront Café have closed down. For those that enjoy walking, the path from the exit of the Cruise Terminal along the ocean up to the historical downtown and the Careenage (an interesting area of Bridgetown) is both safe and pleasurable.
